New Ellison Study on Church Attendance

A new study released Tuesday indicated that most Americans who attended church services as a child indicated that this has had a positive impact on their adult lives. The Ellison study found that 66% of Americans believe attending church or sunday school services prior to age 18 provided a good moral foundation for their adult lives.

On the other hand, 31% of those polled indicated that attending services as a child made them less likely to attend church as an adult.

Interestingly enough, 51% of Americans currently attend religious services once per month or more frequently according to the new study. I would have thought the number would have been higher than that.

Mike Huckabee - Our Choice for Conservative Christian Candidate

Mike Huckabee, former Arkansas governor running for President recently announced some hefty Christian endorsers, including Janet Folger of Faith2Action, Mathew Staver of Liberty Counsel and Stephen Strang of Charisma Magazine to name a few.

"To have the support of these leaders of faith means so much to me" Huckabee commented in a written statement. Huckabee further commented that the individuals listed above "will be vital inhelping me spread my conservative message of hope and my vision for a stronger America."

Even more recognizable figures have come forward in recent days such as Movie Actor Chuck Norris. It does appear Huckabee is making a push to the front of the Republican polls along side Rudy Guiliani and Mitt Romney, although at this point, there is no clear conservative Republican leader.

Huckabee is a clear contender among pro-life candidates as candidates such as Rudy Guiliania waiver on such an issue - it does appear Huckabee is the most viable conservative and Christian-valued candidate in the race at this point.

But others may disagree??

Lifestyle Evangelism Made Easy

There are certainly many references in the Bible to evangelism, and now more recently other means of evangelising known as "Lifestyle Evangelism", the most notable examples are Matthew 28, John 4:35-38 and First Corinthians 3:5-9.

The term "Lifestyle Evangelism" simply means other ways of spreading the word of the Bible and Jesus (i.e., those of us who are not Ministers or who otherwise are looking for ways of spreading Christianity without necessarily preaching). So it could be interpreted as non-verbal means of spreading God's word. That's the easiest answer I like to give.

Another way of looking at it is that a non-verbal means, like wearing a Christian tee shirt certainly can be a conversation starter and lead to a discussion - this is very common as people will often ask about a neat looking Christian tee shirt such as "I've never seen that one, that's clever, where did you get it, etc."

There are some who debate whether anything short of preaching or verbal evangelizing is really folllowing God's word, but I think Matthew 28 is the best example in that it doesn't specify the MEANS in which to spread the word to other nations - it just says go out and spread the word.
